This project consists of a new Primary Education Center with related parking, and Campus Park site improvements to be constructed in the schoolyard of the existing Forrest Elementary School.
The site is located at 7300 Cottage Street in Northeast Philadelphia in the Holmesburg neighborhood. It's district boundary includes parts of Mayfair, and Tacony as well as Holmesburg. The entire site is 3.13 acres. The area of the schoolyard is 72,800 square feet.
The building program includes 13 classrooms to serve a student population of 331 in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. There is a Multi Purpose Room which serves as a cafeteria, assembly and recreation room. There are support spaces including Administrative Offices, Bathrooms, Storage, Mechanical/Electrical Rooms, Warming Kitchen and Custodian's Office.
The Campus Park site improvements include a playground structure with a safety surface under it, benches, faculty/visitor parking lot, landscaping and a relocation of the existing basketball courts on the school yard.
