This new museum to house the art collection of the Seattle Art Museum is located in the heart of the financial district near the waterfront. in addition to exhibit space, the museum includes lecture halls, meeting rooms, classrooms a gift shop, and a restaurant. The museum is designed to have the feel of an important institutional building, using traditional limestone materials. The colorful stone ornament at the base of the building enlivens the street while providing a welcoming entry to the facility.
