Honored by President Obama and featured on the Today Show, the award-winning hybrid K-1 Attack supercar was built by a team of determined high school kids in the Automotive Academy machine shop. Now known as the Workshop School, this vocational annex to West Philly High was created to engage at-risk students. Converse Winkler renovate the building into a free-standing school that meets the spatial requirements of high school programs, creating a full kitchen, art and music spaces, science labs, resource / media room, upgrading the machine shop and making ADA and Life Safety improvements. On the exterior, CWA repointed masonry and designed new lighting, signage and a high-tech steel entry canopy.
