Philadelphia Water Administration Building

Not far from Bartram’s Garden in Kingsessing, Philadelphia Water has brought sewer maintenance into the future with a sunny, energy-efficient administration building and training facility. On a neighborhood site ready for revitalization, CWA designed a two-story masonry structure with metal wall panels and translucent wall system at the entry corner. Skylights brighten the lobby, corridors, and the glass-walled training room. Structural tile walls feature historic photos of the landmark water system, while an interactive monitor will showcase sustainable building elements. The building includes modern locker and shower rooms for workers, who will start and end the workday here.
