Although the exterior is modest and unadorned, this historic 1850s home has strong interior features that CWA added to suit contemporary living. The lower level kitchen and dining areas were completely refurbished with a new layout that opens up the space and connects the rooms with a delicately lit passageway of custom wood doors and trim. Hot water radiant floor heat under limestone tiles warms the rooms. On the upper floors painted wainscoting, crown molding, an entertainment cabinet and mahogany bar were added to the living room and den. Connected to water and power, the custom-designed bar is fully equipped with a wine cooler and ice maker. Marble fireplaces and chandeliers were restored and flooring replaced with heart pine. New mahogany bookcases were built in the second-floor study, and a luxurious soaking tub with mahogany surround and vanity complete the master bath suite. Designed to last into the next century, the renovation enriches the historic home with period-appropriate elegance and modern comfort.
