Playing with the elements of the shore vernacular, this contemporary summer home has sloping roofs, articulated rafter tails and white lap siding. Inside, oversized windows offer abundant natural light and serene views of the lake and the lighthouse. The front door opens to a winding, brightly lit stair. Designed with a timeless palette, the kitchen, dining, living room area is well-suited for family gatherings, and opens to a screened-in porch and courtyard. The master suite and a cozy den are also on the first floor, in quiet segments of the house. Upstairs are two sunny, generous guest rooms. Across the breezeway is a kids’ retreat with three built-in bunk beds. Intended to be a relaxing environment for enjoying grandchildren, this house is the third CWA project with this client.
